I knew it was coming. I knew they didn't have the nerve. Three days in and they've got faces like vexed tomatoes, their skins flaking sci-fi style: burnt to fuck. They were an embarrassment; not only to me and the wife and The Fall fans but to their own generation. Mark E. Smith
About This Quote

First, I will start this quote by saying that I am not a fan of the Fall. I know that this is an unpopular opinion, but it is my opinion nonetheless. I saw the Fall in concert in 2005 and it was awful. I did not enjoy myself at all.

The band was loud and obnoxious and it was like they were trying to outdo one another. I personally thought that it was very pretentious to dress up in that manner. So when I read this article, it made me laugh because while the article makes reference to The Fall being pretentious, the quote is referring to the band's fans being pretentious too.

It's a great example of how a person can be a hypocrite while believing in a certain ideology.
